Some English Ambassadors from our school had an extraordinary day visiting Stanley on 6th April, 2016. Not only did they explore a relaxing environment in a suburban area of the city, but they also took the chance to interview foreigners in English. The English Ambassadors visited several exciting attractions including Stanley Plaza- a modern shopping mall, Murray House with a Victorian architectural style, Stanley Market which is filled with small stalls selling different products and a Tin Hau temple.
Let us know more from the English Ambassadors:

It was a great day at Stanley and it was also my first time visiting there. Stanley is beautiful with high mountains and sea views. Although the day was foggy and hot, we enjoyed Stanley. We walked through Stanley Market, Stanley Plaza, the waterfront promenade, Tin Hau Temple, and also Murray House.
Before visiting Murray House, I thought it had cutlery for enjoying tea because I heard somebody described it like that, however the exterior of Murray House was elegant, and built up with marble columns. Inside it was the chain store H&M and expensive restaurants.
The most important part of the trip was that we tried to talk with some foreigners. We talked with the Australians and the British. They were nice and they spent some time with us.
In conclusion, the sea view of Stanley was beautiful and we took many photographs there. It was a good day!

On April 6th, 2016, I had a visit to Stanley. Travelling from Causeway Bay MTR Station to Stanley, we spent about 20 minutes taking a minibus.
To my surprise, we were given some questions and told that we should interview at least three foreigners. Being afraid of speaking in my poor English, I thought it would be a terrible experience. However, my trepidation disappeared upon entering the Stanley Plaza as I saw a beautiful bay there.
We then divided into 3 teams, Firstly we had to write down some of the new vocabulary we saw. There were many English words with Chinese meanings around Stanley Plaza. There was also a fish exhibition, and the fish models were made from plastic water bottles. They were quite beautiful.
After, we visited Stanley Market. Stanley Market pathway was a bit narrow, but I liked being there. The shops there mainly sold Chinese souvenirs and there were also stores selling unique toys.
Near the Stanley Market, there was a temple which I didn’t get the name. I remembered however that there was a Guan Yu. We also saw Tin Hau Temple; but what a pity that we didn’t enter it. When it is time to celebrate Tin Hau’s birthday, there will be many people in front of Tin Hau Temple.
What was most impressive was the interviewing of the foreigners. Usually, I become shy when I face foreigners, but my partner stepped out bravely and spoke with the foreigners. A minute before, my partner had told me that he was afraid of talking to foreigners. My English teacher Mrs. Barry also talked to me and said that I must overcome my shyness. Finally, I tried to be brave and, went to interview some foreigners.
After my interviewing, I thought that it was not too hard to make friends with people even though we are not from the same country or speak with them although we speak different languages.
