The students and teachers from Ansgar College, Norway visited Holm Glad College on 22nd March 2017. Being the host, eighteen students of our school introduced the campus and the students’ school life to the guests. The students even let the guests experience the Chinese culture by bringing in variety of activities for them to try, such as practicing Chinese calligraphy, making Chinese knotting, kicking jianzi, etc. In the afternoon, the students brought the guests to Kwun Tong to visit the vibrant, bustling city life in Hong Kong.
Our students enjoyed the time being with the students in Norway. Let’s see how our students feel about the program:
It was quite an experience. The Norwegian students were very kind and patient. They shared a lot about their country and about their travelling experiences. It was a great opportunity to practice English.

On the day of hosting the students in Ansgar College, I felt so grateful because I could share the culture in Hong Kong with my groupmates. Also, it was a great opportunity to communicate with foreigners from Norway.

I enjoyed such an experience. I’ve learnt that Norwegians usually move out from parents’ home when they reach 18. During the program, I spoke English fluently and confidently with the Norwegian students. It was really a great chance for me to practice the spoken English. If I am offered another opportunity to join a similar program, I will definitely join it again.

I learnt a lot about the Norwegian culture and life after spending time with the Norwegian students. Although we hadn’t met each before, we could get along with each other so well. It’s just like as if we had been friends for a long time. It was definitely a memorable experience to me.
